Join us for an interactive session where we will explore syllable types, equip you with strategies to support encoding and decoding. We’ll share easy-to-integrate teaching tips that transform syllable instruction into a fun, game-like challenge. Three special education teachers and three general education teachers will give a presentation that includes resources and suggestions for how to modify work for students who receive modified curriculum based on their methods and resources. The presentation will cover the collaborative efforts necessary to modify work and examples of how to modify grade-level math and ELA work to a modified student's level. There will also be an activity where general education teacher attendees and special education teacher attendees will partner and modify work for a sample student. We will provide a sample student packet with all state and district testing data, iReady summary, and IEP to use to guide them through the activity. They will then practice modifying a grade-level assignment and create an anchor chart where they will add resources they would use and how they would modify the assignment to share with the group. We will wrap up the presentation with a question/answer session.
