With 16 years of experience in education, I have cultivated a deep commitment to student success and educator support. I began my teaching career in middle school English Language Arts before moving to the elementary level, where I taught fourth grade ELA and Social Studies. My passion lies in empowering teachers and supporting emergent bilinguals to thrive academically and linguistically.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Language Arts and Reading from Texas Woman’s University, as well as a master’s degree in Teacher Leadership from Lamar University. Beyond the classroom, I enjoy traveling, collaborating and working with renowned educator and author ,Gretchen Bernabei, and diving into a good book whenever I can.
I’ve been happily married to my high school sweetheart for 25 years, and we have three wonderful children. Our family wouldn’t be complete without our spirited Parti Yorkie, Koko, who keeps us all on our toes.
